Summer Training is Here!

Summer 2026 Field Hockey Training in Richmond, VA — Everything You Need to Know

Summer is here, and for Richmond field hockey players, that means one thing: more time on the field. Relentless Field Hockey Club is offering a full slate of summer 2026 programming for athletes of all ages and levels — from first-timers picking up a stick for the first time to college players preparing for fall season.

Whether your athlete plays on a competitive club team, is just getting started, or is heading off to play in college, there’s a place for them this summer.

What’s Available This Summer

Blaze / Torch Summer Training — U14, U16, U19

Competitive and developmental club players can stay sharp all summer with weekly open field sessions at St. Catherine’s. Sessions run Thursdays in June and Mondays in July — available as drop-ins or a full summer package. Designed for returning Relentless players looking to maintain their edge between seasons.

Note for returning players: Torch is the new name for what was previously our Ignite program. Same developmental track, same coaching — just a name that better reflects where this group is headed.

Ignite Summer Training & Beach Bash Prep — Experienced U10 & U12

Built for experienced junior players, Ignite summer training runs weekly through June and July. July sessions double as direct preparation for the Beach Bash tournament (July 24–26) — a great opportunity for younger players to compete in a fun, low-pressure environment. Available as drop-ins or a full summer package.

Note for returning players: Ignite is the new name for our junior U8-U12 programming. If your athlete trained with us last summer at the U10 or U12 level, this is their program.

Spark — Beginner Field Hockey for U8, U10 & U12

New to field hockey? Spark is the perfect place to start. These one-hour sessions are designed to introduce young athletes to the sport in a fun, no-pressure environment. No experience necessary — drop-ins are welcome. Sessions run Thursdays in June and Mondays in July at St. Catherine’s.

Summer Clinic Series — Ages 10–18, All Levels

A four-week themed clinic series running Tuesday evenings in July and August. Each session focuses on a different concept:

  • The Launch Pad 🚀 — A U14–U19 Beginners Clinic | July 14
  • The 1v1 Lab 🧪— An Elimination & Defense Clinic | July 21
  • Circle Wars 🥅 — A Shoot & Save Clinic | July 28
  • 20/20 Hockey 👀 — A Vision & Decisions Clinic | August 4

Register for the full series or drop in for individual sessions. Open to all ages and skill levels.

Goalkeeper Training — Ages 12–18

Position-specific training led by Relentless goalkeeper coaches. Sessions are available in packages of six, three, or individually — register for what fits your summer. Training dates run across June and July at Trinity Episcopal School.

Individual & Small Group Lessons — All Ages & Levels

One-on-one and small group sessions with Relentless staff, tailored to whatever your athlete needs most. Skill work, position training, confidence before a big season — we’ll meet you where you are. Scheduling is flexible; reach out if you can’t find a time that works.

College Training — Incoming Freshmen & Current College Players

Structured skill sessions designed for players heading into or currently in a college program. Sessions run through June, July, and into August — focused on the technical details that will make a difference this fall.

Adult Pickup — College Players, Incoming Freshmen & Post-Grads

Competitive 11v11 or 7v7 pickup for college-level players home for the summer. Sessions run one to two times per week through June, July, and August at St. Catherine’s. Fast-paced, high-level play with no structure required.
