Position Title: Spark Coach
Location: Richmond, VA
Status: Part-Time | Seasonal
Compensation: Hourly, based on experience

About the Role:
Relentless Field Hockey is seeking energetic, patient, and passionate coaches to lead our Spark Program—our foundational program for introducing the game of field hockey to beginners, primarily elementary-aged athletes.

Spark Coaches are more than instructors—they are the first point of contact in a young athlete’s journey and play a key role in creating a positive, empowering experience that builds confidence and love for the sport.

Responsibilities:

• Lead or assist sessions for Spark athletes (typically ages 5–11) in a fun, safe, and supportive environment

• Teach age-appropriate technical fundamentals through games, drills, and positive reinforcement

• Help with practice setup, equipment management, and breakdown

• Serve as a role model for sportsmanship, effort, and enthusiasm

• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, athletes, and fellow coaches

• Collaborate with the Relentless coaching staff to implement session plans and reinforce club values

Qualifications:

• Field hockey playing or coaching experience strongly preferred (youth coaching experience a plus)

• Passion for working with kids and a knack for making sports fun and inclusive

• High energy, reliable, and positive attitude

• USAFH coaching certification, including SafeSport and background check (or willingness to obtain)

• Must be available for weekend sessions depending on program schedule

Position Title: Goalkeeping Specialist
Location: Richmond, VA
Status: Part-Time | Seasonal

About the Role:
Relentless Field Hockey is hiring a Goalkeeping Specialist to work with goalies across age groups and skill levels. This coach will play a critical role in developing confident, skilled, and tactically sound goalkeepers who are prepared to contribute at the highest level of play.

The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the position, strong communication skills, and a passion for teaching goalies how to lead from the back with courage, composure, and clarity.

Responsibilities:

• Design and lead goalkeeper-specific sessions in both small-group and team practice settings

• Provide individualized instruction focused on technical proficiency, footwork, positioning, and decision-making

• Collaborate with team coaches to integrate goalkeepers into team systems (pressing, outletting, etc.)

• Offer in-game coaching and feedback during tournaments or scrimmages when needed

• Track progress and communicate regularly with athletes and coaches to support long-term development

• Help create a culture of pride, leadership, and resilience within the goalkeeper unit

Qualifications:

• Significant goalkeeping experience as a player or coach (college, club, or national level preferred)

• Strong understanding of modern goalkeeping techniques, training progressions, and game strategy

• Experience working with youth athletes (U12–U19) and the ability to tailor coaching to different levels

• Clear communicator who can break down complex concepts in a relatable way

• USAFH coaching certification, including SafeSport and background check (or willingness to obtain)

• Available evenings and/or weekends depending on the training schedule
